Vincent Wekker, MSc, MD

PhD Student
AMC Amsterdam

Vincent is a broadly interested, enthusiastic PhD student at the University of Amsterdam. He has been a medical student from September 2008 until October 2014, and has just graduated as a doctor. During his studies he became fascinated by cardiovascular medicine, and he did research on the effect of hypercholesterolemia on the development of cardiac arrhythmias during an acute coronary syndrome. He also completed several clinical internships abroad. During the last phase of his studies, he came in contact with gynecology and obstetrics. In the long run he wants to become a gynecologist. Vincent is fascinated by the fact that small changes in early life can have major consequences in the future and he hopes that his ‘small’ scientific contribution can make a global difference.
